They come from Killarney in Co. Kerry, Ireland. Born into a music-mad family — their mother a passionate Irish set dancer, their father a gifted singer and accordion player — and with grandparents on both sides who were singers and musicians in the old Irish tradition. So it was almost inevitable that Tim and Brendan would begin making music, initially at home and at family gatherings, and later publicly on both large and small stages. Their first tours took them all across Ireland, and soon they were travelling to other countries as well — Australia, New Zealand, many European countries, and the USA time and again. Step by step, the duo won the hearts of fans and performed alongside acts such as superfolk band ALTAN, Dolores Keane, Sharon Shannon, De Dannan, Marie Breathnach (ex-Riverdance), Karan Casey, Dervish and Lunasa. At the end of 1997, the brothers went their separate ways. Brendan O'Shea decided to return to the USA (where he had already lived during the eighties) to pursue his career as a singer/songwriter. Since then, he has become a fixture of the music scene in New York's East Village.
